Nine Mile, the peaceful, country village in Jamaica where Cedella Marley-Booker, the Marley family matriarch’s and Princess’ grandmother’s life began, has blossomed into a major source of inspiration, pride and love for Princess. It is this love of Nine Mile and an intense desire to share its wonder with the world that caused Princess to start the Nine Mile fashion and lifestyle brand. What started as a passion project for the young creator and designer, has rapidly developed, almost seemingly overnight, into a brand that is perfect for right now— a clothing and lifestyle brand which celebrates the beautiful, dynamic, multi-cultural world that we are currently living in. Her background in event, music and media management means that Princess has a finger on the pulse of what’s trending and is able to translate that into everything she does— and so far one might say she’s been pretty successful. Since founding the Nine Mile brand, Princess has showcased it at the renowned Kaya Fest in California, been interviewed on leading Miami radio station HOT 105 and has had her brand repped by Soca superstar Machel Montano. The message and spirit behind Nine Mile is contagious and people all over the world are catching it. Hyper-focused and extremely passionate, Princess oversees every single aspect of her brand, from the initial creation and design, to the production, distribution and marketing. It is her commitment to seeing the Nine Mile brand showcased in precisely the right light that results in this super hands-on approach, which of course, also means a lot of sleepless nights. When asked what keeps her energized and inspired as she travels this unpredictable journey of entrepreneurship? “I am passionate about creating clothing that fits great and makes you feel good.
